“My sister said they bought someone for me.” She
frowned. “Can you check who it was? Or maybe put yourself in that
slot?” She stared at him and realized what she’d said. “Oh. Shit. I
meant…” She pressed her lips together. Better to stop talking than
to say something else she’d regret.
“I can. If you’d rather have me, that’s your
right.” He took the phone from her. “According to this…I haven’t
been requested.” He shrugged. “Women come here to dance, but they
don’t want to be alone. That’s where the GXGuys come in. We’re safe
and there to cater to you…er…her. No one is allowed to butt in and
you feel special.” Interesting. Where was he during the last two
years of her marriage? Maybe if she’d had someone to turn to, the
whole divorce wouldn’t have been so devastating. “If I swipe, how
long do I get? What do I get?” If she was going to do this, she
wanted to know her options.
“That depends. We’re available in hour
increments. As for what we do, that’s up to you. I’m not here for
sex—but a few of the other guys are.” His smile faded. “If that’s
what you want, I can set it up.”
“Ah. You must be saving yourself for someone
special.” Wasn’t that how things worked—the handsome ones were
always taken. She couldn’t help her twinge of jealousy.
“You could say that.” He waggled his fingers.
“I’ll find someone for you. No problem.”
“Who said you needed to?” She took the phone from
him. “I’d like to rent you for the next two hours—unless you’ve got
a better offer?”
